L’Auberge Del Mar was built in 1910. The hotel was a hot spot for celebrities that were looking for an escape and some time to relax. The beachfront resort opened its doors to soldiers and their families during World War II, so that they could have a nice holiday. Eventually the hotel was demolished in 1969. In 1985, a local resident by the name of Jim Watkins purchased the property and rebuilt the hotel. Then, in 1989, its doors were reopened and named the L’Auberge Del Mar. There have been many changes since 1989. First, a $25 million renovation in 2008, and another in 2017 with a renovation with the guidance of Barclay Butera.

Seagrove Park
Just a few steps away from the resort, there is the venue of Seagrove Park. This space offers panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. This is such a beautiful and natural setting. At Seagrove Park, you will be able to accommodate a ceremony for up to 200 seated guests. It is almost like having your private garden ceremony between the palm trees and the breathtaking cliff views that extend from Oceanside all the way to La Jolla!

Pacific Terrace
The Pacific Terrace is an extensive rooftop venue with the best ocean views. One can also see the views of Del Mar village! During the day it's filled with sun and salty air, and when night hits, it is a perfect location for watching the sunset. This is definitely one of the best places to kiss! The Pacific Terrace can accommodate up to 200 guests for a ceremony and reception. If you are looking for a venue with beautiful coastline views and village as your stunning backdrop, this is the one!

Sunset Terrace
The Sunset Terrace is located in the ocean view courtyard of the L'Auberge. This space offers magnificent sunset views. Not to mention, the photo ops are would be perfect with this backdrop! The Sunset Terrace is the perfect for small or private ceremonies and cocktail receptions. This space can also be used as a dining area. Sunset Terrace can accommodate up to 120 guests for a ceremony, and 200 guests for cocktail receptions.
Ocean Terrace
The Ocean Terrace is the most intimate space out of all the venues. For one looking for a secluded and personal ceremony or reception, the Ocean Terrace is the place to choose! Your guests will fall in love with the ocean views. The memories that are made will be adored forever.
Pricing & Information for Weddings at L'Auberge Del Mar
The L'Auberge Del Mar wedding packages range from $209-$229 per person. The most commonly chosen package is at $249 per person. Location fees do vary according to the ceremony location that you choose.
L'Auberge Del Mar commits to one wedding per evening. They are able to accommodate weddings of up to 200 guests. Saturday dates are in high demand, so there is a minimum requirement of cost in food and beverage.
However, they do book many weddings with a smaller food and beverage minimum. If this is something that is of concern, you may choose to have your wedding in their off season of December March, book on an available date in the next 6 months, or book on a Friday or Sunday.
With the packages, the couples may enjoy outdoor ceremonies in a choice of 2 separate locations. In addition to this, they get to have an outdoor cocktail hour and ocean view dinner under the stars. Once dinner, toasts, and dances are finished, your guests will be surprised with a dance floor, cocktails, and dessert lounge. This is located in the Platinum Ballroom. The Ballroom is lined with beautiful crystal chandeliers and an outdoor waterfall terrace!
The bride and groom choose their start time. The end time for the Platinum Ballroom is at 11pm. There is also a Living Room Lobby Bar, that is open until 2am for those of you that would like to keep the party going!
